Card from a 12 year old

It amazes me at what children can create. My daughter needed a birthday card for her friend and I asked if she'd like to make it and she said she would. This is what she came up with. On the inside she cut a smaller piece of pink and wrote her note to her birthday friend.
Have you let your children play with your stamping goodies?

So Saffron

Here is a quick and easy card. Cut 2 pieces of coordinating cardstock-I used Stampin Up's double sided Designer Paper layer them slightly with adhesive then take a piece of So Saffron ribbon and place over the area where the two papers meet and adhere to your card.

Next, embellish the front using SU Scallop and Cicle punches. The flower stamp is from the Priceless set and the rhinestone brad in the center is the icing on the cake!

4th of July

Here is a layout I created by going to Word and printing out a star shape to fit my 12X12 paper then adhered pictures to it making sure not to miss any space, cut it out the cut it into 5 pieces, adhered them to a blue piece of cardstock then onto white. The stars are made with SU punches. The font was from CK Freedom, paper trim on top and bottom DCWV paper and rhinestones by Doodlebug

Paper Gator

This little beauty is amazing! I had heard you could make your own scalloped paper with it SO I bought one to try it out!

It REALLY works! Just remove the pink guides by unscrewing them with a coin. You can make larger scallops with the 3/8" corner rounder. I used the 1/4" rounder.

Not only will it cut chipboard but acrylic sheets as well!!!

Here is a sample I did with an acrylic sheet. For an awesome selection of acrylic sheets...go to Kits 2 Remember

Cardz

Ingredients 2 a Perfect Card.....

uuhhh, okay.....maybe MY idea of a perfect card isn't the same as others view it. Anyway, here it goes.....

I start with a color/paper/embellishment I LOVE and then create from there. I also see inspiration from magazine covers.

The following card was pretty without anything....BUT....what if I alter it....just a little bit. This is how it turned out.

Now-on THIS card....I really added goodies to it. Take a guess as to how many punches I used!!!

What is your guess??

Hint-Hint-It is a kind of soda.

With this card, I didn't have ribbon to coordinate with the card SO I improvised by cutting a piece of cardstock, running it through the crimper and weaving it within the "Leave It 2 Weaver" punch. CUT-RUN-WEAVE....EZ....

Happy Scrappin'.....

Cloud 9 Board Book

What a fun little book to put together. Shhh don't tell Naomi but this is for her! I printed out pictures in contact form so they are super tiny, perfect for this fun book. Next I adhered 2x2 Cloud 9 paper to each side of the board. Some corners I rounded.

Next I cut out the pictures using punches or scissors. Next came the bling bling..... I had fun using Cloud 9 chipboard stickers, jewls and tabs. I also added some sewing to some of the papers BEFORE placing them on the board.

Love My "Fiska" Shapes!

This is how I store my shapes. A three ring binder works wonderful!
Do you get confused on which side to place up?? If so, take your Sharpie marker and trace FISKARS. Now you will always know which side is up-the FISKARS side!
I use my label maker to put my name on them. Why? Because when people borrow them at scrapbooking events I know which ones are mine.

Enjoy using your fun shapes!!!

Fiskars finger tip knife

Here is a picture of the new Fiskars finger tip knife. It is ergonomically correct when holding it. You slip your pointer finger from underneath the circle and guide it with your thumb and pointer finger.... Have fun with this new tool!

Kaleidoscope Kreator Star

Here is a star I made for a friend for Christmas. I took a picture of her quilt and uploaded it and with the use of Kaleidoscope Kreator 2.0 transformed her quilt into a tree ornament! Use the fiskar finger craft knife to make cutting out the star a breeze!

"No Power" Mini Album

My home was one of thousands without power yesterday. So I decided to make the best of it and create an album without power. With a flashlight in hand, I went to work!

I started with a card and placed envelopes, pictures and mini pages (like the one on the front) inside. Next, I hole punched 4 spots for the paper fasteners. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch through all of the layers.

I also used the new Fiskar corner squeeze punch throughout the album.

With the envelopes I used them to hold additional photos eg. extra pictures on hand.

I stapled ribbon on some of the edges and hand journaled throughout.....

Go ahead---Challange Yourself---Make a "No Power" project!!
